Chicago Symphony Talks Held: Striking musicians at the Chicago Symphony Orchestra met with management for seven hours on Friday, the first face-to-face meeting since Sept. 12, when Daniel Barenboim was to officially inaugurate his tenure as music director. But no progress was reported. Negotiations have been stalemated over who pays for health benefits and no further talks were scheduled. On Saturday, the orchestra played a scheduled free concert at Grant Park, paid for by the city.
