TORONTO — Among the empty glasses, dirty dishes and great memories that the Canada Cup hockey champions, Team Canada, left behind at their Toronto hotel after a night of intense partying was the gold-colored
“It landed up in our baggage room. . . . It was tagged as lost and found,” said Joan Pengelly, manager of marketing and communications with the Westin Harbor Castle Hotel.
Canada beat the United States, 4-2, Monday night to take the best-of-three series, two games to none.
Former Toronto Maple Leaf defenseman and Canada Cup organizer Ron Ellis picked up the trophy Wednesday, Pengelly said.
“They had a good time Monday night and Tuesday morning they were parading (the trophy) around,” Pengelly said.
