Taking Leaf
Your article “Turning Over New Leaves,†Sept. 1, prompts me to write regarding our trip to southwest Colorado. The best aspen colors we saw were on Highway 145. Start at Cortez, drive north through the old mining town of Rico and then up to Telluride. Magnificent color. Then over to Ouray, where you can take a Jeep ride up into the brilliant colors in the mountains. Great color and super back roads. There’s plenty of color in this trek that we took during the first two weeks in October.
