Whittle May Acquire Healthlink: Nashville, Tenn.-based Whittle Communications said it is close to a deal to acquire Healthlink Television of New York, its main rival in the business of providing commercial video programs to medical waiting rooms. Alan Greenberg, chairman of Whittle Health Network, told advertising executives that the purchase of Healthlink and other changes would put Whittle programs in as many as 32,000 medical offices next year. The hourlong videos are played continuously on TV monitors that Whittle provides.
