Viewers Wonder Where the Yeltsin Went

KABC Channel 7 on Tuesday received “quite a few calls, (but) way less than 100,” from viewers wondering why a scheduled “ABC News Town Hall” with Soviet President Mikhail S. Gorbachev and Russian Federation President Boris N. Yeltsin did not air Monday as scheduled, a spokeswoman said.
ABC had announced a delay in the broadcast earlier in the day until the Congress of People’s Deputies finished its emergency session dealing with the realignment of the Soviet Union.
The broadcast was to have followed the New York Giants-San Francisco 49ers football game. Instead, KABC-TV aired its sports call-in show, “Monday Night Live.” Host Todd Donoho said he mentioned the postponement of the town meeting at the start of his program.
ABC News spokeswoman Teri Everett said Tuesday that the town meeting could be rescheduled as soon as tonight.
