A Southeast San Diego nursery school teacher was found stabbed to death after she called 911 asking for help, police said.
Geraldine Crews, 50, was found Sunday night on the kitchen floor of her home in the 800 block of South Elizabeth Street, police said. Minutes after Crews’ call for help, police received a phone call from a man at a pay phone, saying there had been a stabbing on South Elizabeth Street, police said.
Alonzo Cepeda Randall, 31, was being held on suspicion of murder at County Jail downtown. The motive was unknown, police said.
Crews’ slaying is the 125th homicide of the year, police said.
