Outrage Over ‘Hit Piece’ About Hammerman
Let me ask you one simple question: Do you and your staff feel that it is important to have quality professional theater available to the communities of Southern California? If so, how can you allow a writer like Jan Herman to publish an article that is so insignificant and adds no value to anyone interested in the theater?
The Grove Shakespeare Festival is one of Southern California’s finest classical theaters, and to have its name tarnished because Mr. Herman has a personal ax to grind is unfair to this organization. The Grove Shakespeare Festival has hundreds of professional actors and dedicated volunteers who put in countless hours to bring professional theater to our communities. I’m having a difficult time understanding why Mr. Herman feels the need to attempt to destroy this wonderful theater.
If the Los Angeles Times is pro arts, then let’s work together to make the Grove Shakespeare Festival an even bigger success.
