Jason Carrigan pitched a one-hitter as La Crescenta, Calif., beat Drexel Hill, Pa., 2-0, to win the Babe Ruth League World Series for 13-year-olds at Millbille, N.J.
Carrigan struck out nine and set the tournament record for consecutive scoreless innings, 16. The record of 14 was set earlier by teammate Jason Robitaille, who was voted outstanding player of the tournament.
