SAN CLEMENTE : City to Tackle Its Anti-Building Image
- Share via
City officials believe San Clemente is the kind of city developers are attracted to, but end up avoiding.
“The reputation in the past (has been) that it’s really a difficult place to come and develop a project . . . not user-friendly,” said City Manager Michael W. Parness.
To combat the image problem--and attract new projects--the city has joined forces with the Chamber of Commerce and formed a joint Economic Development Committee that will report to the City Council.
On Monday, the City Council adopted six goals and a mission statement. The statement says the committee is charged with enhancing “the image of the city as a positive place to visit and conduct business” through a marketing program, capital improvement projects and promotional events.
