British Airways to Lower Fares: British Airways said it will cut its passenger fares from the United States to London by 15% between Oct. 15 and Dec. 13. The offer, good for passengers leaving from 17 U.S. cities, requires that flights be paid for by Sept. 11 and travel be completed by Jan. 4. “It’s part of a wider series of campaigns related to the drop-off of traffic related to the Gulf War,†a British Airways spokesman said. It also has new competition from its U.S.-based rivals, United and American Airlines.
