ANAHEIM : City Tree-Planting Project to Proceed

Despite the city budget deficit this year, the municipal tree-planting program will not be hurt as much as had been anticipated because of an unexpected $40,000 state grant.
The money, a state urban forestry matching grant, was awarded to the Parks and Recreation Department. Through the city program, more than 500 trees were planted last year. The additional funds will allow the city to plant 1,142 more.
