Com Systems Shows Profit of $1 Million for Quarter

Com Systems Inc. reported a $1-million profit in the second quarter that ended June 30, contrasted with a $583,000 loss a year earlier. The long-distance telecommunications company, based in Westlake Village, said its revenues declined 9% to $32.9 million from $36.3 million in second quarter of 1990.

For the six months that ended June 30, Com Systems earned $1.55 million, while revenues rose 4% to $65.7 million. In the year-earlier period, the company lost $1.53 million on $63.3 million.

Com Systems said its profit turnaround this year is due largely to cost cutting.
