California IN BRIEF : SAN JOSE : Woman Says Man Harassed, Shot Her
From Times Staff and Wire Reports
Laura Black, who was harassed for years by a co-worker accused of staging a murderous office rampage to gain her attention, testified that she faced her pursuer over a shotgun and then struggled to stay alive after he severely wounded her. In dramatic testimony, Black, 29, described becoming faint and hearing blood gurgle in her chest after being shot by Richard Farley. He is accused of killing seven of Black’s co-workers at ESL Inc. in Sunnyvale in a 1988 attack he told police was staged to punish Black for rebuffing his advances.
