Body of Woman, 60, Found After Fire
A 60-year-old woman was found dead after flames raced through her Lake View Terrace home Monday, fire officials said.
No one else was injured in the blaze, which was confined to a rear bedroom of the single-story house in the 11300 block of Clybourn Avenue, Los Angeles Fire Capt. Stephen Ruda said. The woman’s name was not released pending notification of relatives.
Firefighters extinguished the blaze in about 10 minutes, shortly before 1 p.m., he said. They arrived after the owner of the home tried unsuccessfully to rescue the woman, then dialed 911.
Damage was estimated at $10,000. The cause of the fire was under investigation, Ruda said.
