A jury in New York began deliberating the case of three former St. John’s students charged with sexually attacking a female student at an off-campus residence last year.

The case, involving members of the lacrosse team, shocked the school, the largest Catholic university in the country, in the spring of 1990.

The prosecution alleges that the three defendants--Walter Gabrinowitz, 23, Andrew Draghi, 21, and Matthew Grandinetti, 22--sodomized the woman after she came to their house with another housemate, Michael Calandrillo, 22.
