Axel Lopez of Santa Ana defeated Tony Lara of Chino, 7-6 (7-3), 6-4, on the second day of round-robin competition in wheelchair tennis. He is now 1-1 in matches and continues play today. . . . Former Sunny Hills High player Dan Leyson scored a career-high four goals to lead the West water polo team to an 11-5 victory over the South. Leyson, a 1988 graduate of Sunny Hills, scored two goals in the third quarter as the West pulled away from a 4-3 halftime lead. Greg Boyer of Laguna Beach and Brian Costanza of Tustin added two goals apiece for the West. . . . Placentia’s Matt Maclear led the South with two goals.
