TUSTIN : Council to Fill 6 Commission Seats

The Tustin City Council tonight is scheduled to consider filling two vacant seats on the Planning Commission and four seats on the Parks and Recreation Commission.
The terms of Planning Commissioners Alden Baker and Edmund Shaheen expire today . Baker has reapplied to the council for another term but Shaheen has not. Eleven other candidates have applied for the two-year spots.
Others who have expressed an interest are Rex Combs, Richard C. Grace, Amy Greyson, Larry Layne, Daniel J. Lueras, Peter Paul Mendel, Steven Platt, Joseph S. Soter, William Stracker, Kathy Weil and Arthur L. Wood.
The terms of four Parks and Recreation Commission members also will expire today. Of Lois Carr, Jim Kane, Jim Niemic and Sandra Van Dorn, only Carr and Kane have sought to be reappointed.
Other applicants for the spots are Chris Cormack, Tina Dearborn, John Kevin Dillon, Layne, Steven Platt, Zipora Shifberg-Mencher, Robert Spielmann, William E. Stracker and Margarette Thompson.
