Beach Blvd. to Be Site of Sobriety Checkpoint
WESTMINSTER — The California Highway Patrol and the Westminster Police Department will conduct a sobriety checkpoint on Beach Boulevard today.
The two agencies said the checkpoint will begin at 10 p.m. somewhere on Beach Boulevard between Huntington Beach and Westminster.
CHP Officer Lyle Whitten said the operation is being conducted because of the long Fourth of July holiday weekend and the National Sobriety Checkpoint Week conceived by Mothers Against Drunk Driving.
“The purpose is to remind all Californians to think twice before getting behind the wheel after they have been drinking,†Whitten said.
