Burbank Transmissions Cut: NBC will end program transmissions from Burbank on Jan. 1, and NBC’s New York operations will take over sending programs to West Coast affiliates, the network said Monday. The move will cut 75 engineering positions. NBC’s action comes at a time of continuing retrenchments at the major networks because of flat advertising revenues, declining ratings and Gulf War coverage costs.
