STANTON — Brea police raided a Stanton motel room early Sunday and arrested a man believed to be a fugitive wanted in five states, authorities said.
William David Van Mol, 30, was taken into custody shortly before dawn, Brea police said.
According to a statement issued by Lt. Bill Lentini, Van Mol came to their attention early Sunday morning when several local victims complained that they had been defrauded. The nature of the alleged fraud was unclear, but in a records check, Brea police turned up arrest warrants for Van Mol issued in Alabama and Illinois.
Officers went to the Stanton motel, where they arrested Van Mol on the out-of-state warrants.
