A 23-year-old man fell to his death early Sunday after he broke through the skylight of a small manufacturing building during a rooftop drinking party in Northridge, police said.
The man, whose name was withheld pending notification of his family, was with a group of friends on the roof of the building at 19808 Nordhoff St. when he apparently began to jump up and down on the skylight about 2:30 a.m., Los Angeles Police Sgt. Ed Wheelis said.
The man broke through the glass and plunged about 45 feet. Paramedics had to pry open an entry to the boarded-up business to reach the man, who suffered head injuries in the fall, Wheelis said. He was taken to Nu-Med Regional Medical Center in Canoga Park, where he died, Wheelis said.
