CONEJO VALLEY : Board OKs 7% Raise for Teachers, Others

Conejo Valley Unified School District board members Thursday night approved a 7% raise for teachers and other employees as part of its $67.8-million budget for the next school year.
The board also approved a new three-year contract with the Conejo Valley Pupil Personnel Assn., which represents 30 psychologists and counselors.
Union members Wednesday ratified the new contract through June 30, 1994, replacing the contract that expires Sunday. Under the contract, raises in future years will be based on those received by district managers.
“There were no radical changes in the new contract,” said Leean Nemeroff, assistant superintendent of personnel services. The teachers union worked out its contract several months ago.
The board’s action Thursday extended the 7% raise to those employees not represented by unions. The non-union school employees include managers, substitute teachers, adult school teachers, test proctors, campus supervisors and student helpers.
