200 Acres Listed as Enterprise Zone
A 200-acre commercial neighborhood in northwest Pasadena and west Altadena has been selected as one of 10 state enterprise zones.
In Pasadena, the zone stretches from the Foothill Freeway and Lake Avenue to the city’s northern limits. In Altadena, the zone includes parts of Woodbury Road, Lincoln Avenue and Fair Oaks Avenue.
The designation means that the state will provide tax breaks for businesses in the zone to encourage economic improvement and creation of jobs.
Pasadena and Los Angeles County, which also proposed city and county tax breaks for businesses there, will work jointly to hire a zone manager and pay $100,000 each annually to promote the area.
