VENTURA : Breakfasts to Focus on How to Recycle
- Share via
The city of Ventura is sponsoring two breakfasts this week to give people a “Trash Course” on how to recycle at the workplace.
The breakfasts are scheduled to be held 7:30 to 9 a.m. Tuesday and Thursday at Gold Coast Recycling, 5275 Colt St.
The course will include information on identifying recyclables, purchasing recyclable products and wood recycling. Instructors will also discuss methods of starting an office recycling system to minimize disposal costs.
A free continental breakfast will follow the meeting.
Ventura Recycling Office Coordinator Eric Werbalowsky said the office system, which relies on waste-conscious janitorial services, is “one of the most comprehensive, yet simplest to use.”
“And by incorporating a recycling program now, refuse customers will be able to minimize their long-term waste disposal costs.”
Werbalowsky said the program will help satisfy a state mandate that calls for a 25% cut in landfill waste by the year 1995.
The two-year-old law asks for a 50% reduction in landfill waste by the end of the century.
