David Lamb of Huntington Beach is the 1991 recipient of the Huntington Beach Playhouse annual scholarship award.
Lamb, who graduated Wednesday night from Fountain Valley High School, was presented the $500 award by Martin G. Eckmann, technical director of the playhouse, at the school’s senior awards ceremony.
In the past year, Lamb appeared in numerous school and community theater productions, among them “Scapino†at Fountain Valley High, “Man of La Mancha†at the Huntington Beach Playhouse and “Greater Tuna†at the Golden West College Festival.
Lamb will attend the American Conservatory Theatre in San Francisco this summer and Cal State Fullerton in the fall. He intends to major in communications with an emphasis in advertising.
The slogan “Freedom--Its Value Never Depreciates†won first place and $650 for Cypress High School student Michael Nann in the Americanism Education League 21st Annual Patriotic Slogan contest for Orange County high school seniors. The contest attracted 10,876 entries.
