She’s currently giving the restaurant a major face lift. With white cloths, this will be a more elegant restaurant than in South County but will offer similar reasonable prices and abundant servings. Two examples: scampi diavola, with homemade fettuccine, antipasto salad and bread, $16.95; lobster and salmon with brandy sauce, $20.95. They’ll continue to make their own pastas and breads, including a pizza bread, swirled and stuffed with cheese and pepperoni. The new Abbondanza is at 3421 Via Lido.
Zeppa in Fashion Island is closed for “remodeling, reorganizing, a change of concept,” according to a spokesperson. A change in partners leaves Mark Zigner and Mark Whitney at the helm.
