Hashemite Kingdom

In his interview with Queen Noor of Jordan (Opinion, June 9), Robert Scheer twisted the language out of shape. Lisa Najeeb Halaby, he wrote, married “into the more than 1,000-year-old Hashemite Kingdom.”
The Hashemite family goes back a thousand years. The Hashemite Kingdom is barely 40 years old.
