Golf Coaches Assn. Honors Mickelson for Third Time
Phil Mickelson, a graduate of University of San Diego High, was named to the All-America golf team Monday for the third consecutive year by the Golf Coaches Assn. of America.
Mickelson, a junior at Arizona State, has won the NCAA title twice and the U.S. Amateur title once. He was also selected Player of the Year for 1991 and winner of the Jack Nicklaus Award for the second consecutive year.
AWARDS
Jessica Garfin, a University City High tennis and softball player, and Joe Ring, a cross- country runner, have been named recipients of $1,000 scholarships in memory of Ian Krebs, a University City basketball player who died in February.
