Fatal Stabbing Follows Melee
A 24-year-old San Diegan was stabbed to death early Sunday in what police said may have been an incident linked to an attempted auto theft.
Albert Harris Jr., was stabbed shortly after 2:30 a.m. during a melee involving at least 10 people near 46th Street and University Avenue in East San Diego, police said. Police found the victim lying face down on 46th Street.
Harris was rushed to Mercy Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Police said the fight was probably linked to an attempted auto theft. The victim’s role in the fracas was unclear.
