Ex-Governor to Get Achievement Award

Former Gov. and Mrs. Edmund G. (Pat) Brown will be honored by Alternative Living for the Aging at its 10th annual achievement awards dinner at 7:30 p.m. next Wednesday in the Grand Ballroom of the Beverly Hilton.

The organization’s corporate award will go to the Enterprise Foundation, a nonprofit foundation that has assisted in the development of more than 14,000 new and rehabilitated housing units for lower-income families nationwide.

Alternative Living for the Aging was established in 1978 as a nonprofit organization to provide housing alternatives for seniors who otherwise would live alone or in institutions. It offers a roommate matching program for seniors and operates cooperative houses where seniors live in a supportive, affordable community.
