Bradley, in City Car, Gets Speeding Ticket

Los Angeles Mayor Tom Bradley was cited for speeding late Friday while driving a city-owned car in La Mirada, the Sheriff’s Department reported Tuesday.
Bradley, a sheriff’s spokesman said, was clocked by radar at 60 m.p.h. while westbound on Imperial Highway at 1st Avenue, which is posted with a 45-m.p.h. speed limit. The mayor, who is frequently chauffeured by a police bodyguard, was alone when he was stopped at 11:45 p.m., the spokesman said.
Bradley spokesman Bill Chandler said the mayor had been in the area to attend “a private event. Just like countless other conscientious drivers, the mayor neglected his speedometer for a moment,” Chandler said. “Of course the mayor will take care of the matter.”
