The Los Angeles Unified Board of Education on Monday approved the establishment of two $10,000 rewards for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the people responsible for vandalizing two schools last month.

Two men, ages 19 and 21, were arrested late Friday in connection with a break-in and fire that caused $300,000 damage to Mt. Gleason Junior High. The suspects were arrested for burglary by school district police, but it has not been determined whether the arrest resulted from information that would entitle anyone to the reward.

In another incident, someone broke into the Wilshire Crest Elementary School between May 24 and May 27 and opened two fire hose valves, flooding hallways, classrooms, the computer center and library, and causing $300,000 damage. No arrests have been made.
