About 175 people attended a rally Sunday in Lake View Terrace to show support for the Los Angeles Police Department.
The “Back the Blue” rally, held near the site where Rodney G. King was videotaped being beaten by Los Angeles police officers three months ago, was intended to boost the spirits of police “who are risking their lives every day,” rally organizer Adelaide Nimitz said.
The rally at Hansen Dam included a caravan of about 75 motorcyclists.
Nimitz said the rally was aimed specifically at officers on the street who have suffered a decline in morale as a result of the King incident.
