Two men who were washing separate cars at a North Hollywood carwash were shot and wounded by a man who drove off in one of the victims’ vehicles, Los Angeles police said Saturday.
Police said Felix Garcia, 20, of North Hollywood was washing his car at a coin-operated carwash at Laurel Canyon Boulevard and Vanowen Street at about 9 p.m. Friday when a man approached on foot and demanded the keys to his car.
Before Garcia could respond, the man shot him in the upper torso, police said. Garcia handed over the keys but the assailant fired again, striking Eliso Morales, 51, of North Hollywood.
Garcia was taken to Holy Cross Medical Center, where he was reported in stable condition Saturday. Morales, who was hit in the groin, was taken to Northridge Hospital Medical Center, where he was treated and released, police said.
