A 7-year-old boy was killed Saturday when his mother’s car went out of control on a curve and overturned near Jacumba, California Highway Patrol officials said.
The car driven by Valerie Boggan of La Mesa overturned when it hit an embankment shortly after noon on McCain Valley Road, some eight miles north of Old Highway 80. Cole Boggan, who was not wearing a seat belt, died when he was thrown from the car. His mother was not injured.
