The Swat Team: Universal Pictures’ movie version of the Babe Ruth story is going up to bat. “The Babe,” starring John Goodman as the legendary New York Yankees baseball player also known the “Sultan of Swat,” has started production in Chicago. Kelly McGillis and Trini Alvarado co-star; Bruce Boxleitner plays Babe’s teammate and pal Jumpin’ Joe Dugan. Arthur Hiller (“Outrageous Fortune”) is directing the project. The tentative release date is spring of next year.
