SPORTSCOPE : El Camino College Lineman Dies

El Camino College football player Jim Justice died Thursday night at Long Beach Memorial Medical Center after losing a long bout with cancer. He was 18.

Justice, a 6-foot-3, 265-pound offensive lineman during his playing days at El Camino and Leuzinger High, underwent surgery in December to remove a malignant tumor from his brain. He was undergoing radiation treatments when, about a month ago, tests revealed the cancer had returned and spread to his back.

Justice was named All-Southern Section and to The Times’ South Bay All-Star football team as a senior at Leuzinger in 1989.
