Hollywood Bowl

Recently, in a supplement to The Times, the Hollywood Bowl presented information on its 1991 season. All of the box seats were “sold out” in advance of the publication of the supplement.
Obviously, the reason the tickets are “pre-sold” is that the privileged of Los Angeles continue to hold onto their “right” to “own” a piece of the Hollywood Bowl by maintaining season rights from previous years. The right of ownership not only extends to individuals but to companies in perpetuity. It’s unfair.
The Hollywood Bowl is not a private venue. It’s ownership is with the people of Los Angeles. I wish to have an equal opportunity to purchase box seats for an event on an equal footing with everyone else for each event.
Each event’s tickets, including box seats, should go on sale and be available to everyone on an equal basis. If the Hollywood Bowl management feels its best to sell tickets for a “season,” then all season tickets should be available on an equal basis. How do we implement change?
