Michael J. Joseph; Survivor of Titanic Sinking

Michael J. Joseph, 84, who was nicknamed Ty after surviving the 1912 sinking of the Titanic. Only 5 at the time of the disaster, Joseph became separated from his mother in the confusion when the “unsinkable” luxury liner struck an iceberg in the North Atlantic. But an unknown adult, whom he always described as his guardian angel, grabbed his hand and led him to a lifeboat. Little Joseph was reunited with his mother and sister, who also survived, several days later. On Saturday in Warren, Mich., of heart failure.
