A man who posed as an armored car courier stole $219,000 from a business west of downtown Los Angeles, police said Monday.
The employees did not realize that the robber, wearing a uniform and arriving at the usual pickup time, was not their courier, said Los Angeles Police Lt. Ron Moen.
An hour after they turned over the money to the man, a guard from the armored transport company arrived. The workers at 1308 W. 8th St. then realized they had been robbed, Moen said.
