Gregory Will Leave ABT: Cynthia Gregory, American Ballet Theatre’s prima ballerina, will leave the company when her current contract expires June 12. ABT’s financial difficulties have been widely reported, and a spokesman said that Gregory’s decision to leave was motivated by the company’s request that she take a “dramatic reduction” in compensation. Gregory has no plans to retire and expects to continue guest performances with other companies.
