Former Raider Marc Wilson, who didn’t figure in the New England Patriots’ quarterback plans, announced his retirement after a 10-year NFL career.
Wilson, 34, spent the past two seasons with the Patriots after sitting out the 1988 season. He had been cut before that season by the Raiders, with whom he had spent the first eight years of his NFL career.
Wilson’s fate was sealed when the Patriots signed Plan B free agent Hugh Millen, formerly with Atlanta, and drafted another quarterback, Maryland’s Scott Zolak, in the fourth round Sunday. They also have quarterback Tommy Hodson, their third-round pick last year.
