Douglas Aircraft Unions Vote on Pact: About 20,000 unionized workers at the Long Beach facility were deciding whether to ratify a new contract. Negotiators for the union and the company reached a tentative settlement in late March, but workers overwhelmingly rejected it. A second vote on the same agreement was delayed for several weeks because of feuding between national and local leaders of the United Auto Workers. Results of the balloting are expected today.
