The Green Bay Packers said they had reached a contract agreement with quarterback Mike Tomczak, a Plan B free agent from the Chicago Bears.

Contract terms were not disclosed.

The Packers have been looking for a veteran quarterback to back up Don Majkowski, who is coming off rotator cuff surgery on his throwing shoulder.

Last year, in his sixth pro season, all with Chicago, Tomczak completed 39 of 104 passes for 521 yards, with three touchdowns and five interceptions. He also ran 10 times for 41 yards and two touchdowns.
