Missing Calif. Girl, 14, Is Found Safe in Maine; Man and Woman Are Arrested
CLINTON, Me. — California authorities are expected to pick up a missing 14-year-old girl from a shelter and bring back a jailed man and woman she allegedly was traveling with, police said.
Clinton Police Chief Lee Butler said the two were arrested in connection with a “child stealing†investigation.
Tommy Forsythe, 24, of Armona, Calif., and Penny Joe Kocyznski, 20, of Lemoore, Calif., were being held on $20,000 bail Friday at the Kennebec County Jail, after their arrest by Clinton and state police.
The girl, Michellene Nikki Williams, who had been reported missing in Hanford, Calif., last month by her parents, was to be taken home today, Butler said.
