Countywide : Drought Relief Act Approved by House
- Share via
An emergency relief act that could provide $30 million to help drought-stricken water agencies, including those in Ventura County, has been approved by the House of Representatives.
The measure, co-authored by Rep. Robert J. Lagomarsino (R-Ventura), would allow cities to use federal reservoirs and pipelines to transport water to residents.
The bill also provides for federal participation in a newly created state water bank, permitting the sale of water from areas with a surplus to areas experiencing drought.
The bill now goes to the Senate for consideration.
