Hollywood Coalition Rejects Network Proposal: The Coalition to Preserve the Financial Interest and Syndication Rule, a group made up of the major Hollywood studios and independent studios, rejected a network request to negotiate separately with independent producers over allowing the networks to share in the $3-billion TV rerun market. Warner Bros. Chairman Robert Daly, in letter to NBC negotiator Richard Cotton, charged that the tactic was an “improper attempt . . . to separate and divide our group.”
