The state attorney general’s office this week declined a request from the Palomar Pomerado Health System to sue Nancy Scofield, the Poway woman whom hospital officials accuse of having misled voters to win a seat on the hospital board.
The decision concludes the last of the hospital board’s three attempts to strip Scofield of her seat on the board, which she won in November.
Scofield described herself as a “nurse/community volunteer” on the ballot, a description that hospital officials say was misleading because she is actually a home health aide, whose duties include changing beds and preparing food.
