Postal Service

After lengthy and utterly frustrating dealings (“High Court Ruling Backs Private Mail Carrier,†Part A, Feb. 27) with the U.S. Postal Service, over the continual misdelivery of my residential mail, I can sympathize with those who would like to privatize the Postal Service. Being a businessman myself, I find it incredible that a business the size of the Postal Service cannot make a profit, especially when it has no competition in the delivery of first-class mail.

Ironically, when I voiced my frustrations to my local postmaster, I found him to be even more frustrated than myself. He has very little real power to correct glaring inadequacies in the Postal Service.

Privatize the Postal Service and take the burden of supporting another losing proposition off of the taxpayers’ backs.
