Western Union Corp.: The communications services company reported that fourth-quarter income was $224.2 million, largely because of a $180-million payment from AT&T;, which bought several Western Union operations. In the same quarter of 1989, the Upper Saddle River, N.J., company lost $14.1 million. Quarterly revenue fell 8% to $144 million. For the full year, income totaled $149 million, contrasted with a loss of $32.3 million in 1989. Revenue dropped 7% to $593 million. The company said it sold its Business Service unit and other operations to try to reposition itself for long-term profitability.
